Overview
Histopathology is the microscopic examination of tissue to study the manifestations of disease, providing essential diagnostic and prognostic information across medical specialties. Research published in this journal demonstrates the breadth of histopathological investigation, spanning benign and malignant neoplasms, inflammatory conditions, and age-related tissue changes. Studies have examined diverse pathological entities including neurofibromas undergoing malignant transformation, lipomatous neoplasms, hemangiomas presenting with atypical clinical features, and epidermoid cysts in unusual anatomical locations. Histopathological analysis has been applied to evaluate tumors in exceptional locations that pose diagnostic challenges, as well as inflammatory conditions such as Mooren's ulcer and cytomegalovirus esophagitis. Beyond human pathology, published work has utilized histopathological methods to assess tissue damage in experimental models, including hepatoprotective effects of natural compounds and age-related dysfunction in animal studies, and to characterize viral infections in veterinary contexts such as foot and mouth disease in cattle. This microscopic tissue analysis remains fundamental to accurate diagnosis, treatment planning, and understanding disease mechanisms across clinical medicine and biomedical research, bridging observational pathology with therapeutic decision-making.
