Overview

Cyclic Peptides are molecules consisting of two or more amino acids connected in a cyclic or ring-like manner. They are important as they are often found in nature as part of various neurotransmitters, enzymes, hormones, and natural products. Furthermore, cyclic Peptides have many applications in synthetic biology, drug discovery, and enzyme engineering. They can be used to selectively target and block the action of specific biological targets and to modulate protein-protein interactions. In addition, cyclic Peptides can be used in the design and synthesis of novel vaccines, antibacterial agents, and drugs for cancer treatment. They have potential for use in the treatment of other diseases such as Alzheimer’s and HIV, as well as in the development of new materials for food and drug delivery.
