The Coextensive Circumstance- Parachordoma
Abstract:
Parachordoma is an extremely exceptional, peripherally situated soft tissue neoplasm arising at non axial locations. Also designated as soft tissue “myoepithelioma” or “mixed tumour”, the tumefaction histologically simulates a chordoma of axial skeleton and was referred to as “central chordoma” emerging within non- axial sites. Nevertheless, a distinctive immune profile categorises the lesion as a unique entity.

Abstract:
Preface Fibromatosis colli is an exceptional, benign neoplasm of infancy constituted by spindle-shaped cells of sternocleidomastoid muscle. Fibromatosis colli emerges within specific sites such as distal or inferior segment of sternocleidomastoid muscle and is accompanied by diffuse enlargement of the muscle. Although nomenclated as “sternocleidomastoid tumour” or “sternocleidomastoid pseudo-tumour of infancy”, the designation is a misnomer, as the condition is non neoplastic although it may be denominated as a congenital fibrotic disorder.

Use of Fluoride and Silver Ion Compounds in Three International School Based Oral Health Programs – A Case Report
Abstract:
Untreated dental caries in children is one of the most common diseases and largest public health problems in the world. A novel caries management program, using 50% silver nitrate, 38% silver diamine fluoride, and 5% sodium fluoride varnish, was developed at Shoreview Dental, LLC, a private dental practice in Oregon USA, and then introduced into schools in Ecuador, Ghana, and Bolivia. Cavitated carious lesions were treated with 50% silver nitrate, followed by covering with 5% sodium fluoride varnish, three times over two weeks for 165 children in Ecuador at initial assessment, 3 months, and 6 months. This protocol was repeated for 271 children in Ghana at initial assessment and 12 months. Extraosseous Plasmacytoma of Thyroid Arising in Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis
Abstract:
Plasma cell neoplasms of the thyroid gland are uncommon. They may occur either as a primary extraosseous (extramedullary) plasmacytoma or as secondary involvement by multiple myeloma (MM). Here, we report the case of a 62-year-old female, presenting with goiter and Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, in whom the histologic diagnosis of extraosseous plasmacytoma was unexpected. Histology of the total thyroidectomy specimen showed a diffuse infiltration of well-differentiated plasma cells against a background of Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. By immunohistochemistry, the majority of the plasma cells are positive for IgG heavy chain and kappa light chain (kappa:lambda ratio was about 6-7:1). PCR analysis of the immunoglobulin heavy and kappa chain (IGH, IGK) gene rearrangements showed clonal IGH and IGK gene rearrangements. Is Social Media Contributing to an Unhealthy Fixation with Health?
Abstract:
Orthorexia Nervosa (ON) describes a pathological, unhealthy fixation with eating healthy food. This study intends to further understand ON and its possible link to the use of social media, and specifically, to test the prevalence of ON in an opportunity sample with the use of two ON measures – the ORTO-15 and the Tereul Orthorexia Scale (TOS); to use and validate a new ON measure (TOS); to examine the relationship between ON and social media use, with a focus on Instagram users; and to further understand the participants’ interpretations of the possible link between eating patterns and social media use. Perception of Health Care Professionals on Transplantation in the Treatment of COVID-19 Patients
Abstract:
Corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome corona virus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has rapidly evolved as a pandemic with a challenge to the entire world for its management. Various modalities of treatment have been tried till date and when all the modalities failed then the only option that has been shown to be successful in some cases is lung transplantation. Decision for Solid-organ transplantation is not only made based upon its therapeutic requirement but also need to be supported by the law of land. In this regard, current Nepalese law is not with the provision for lung transplantation. Thus, in order to make the concerned authorities aware of it and also as a step toward the preparedness for COVID-19 pandemic, this research has been conducted with an aim to see the perception of health care professionals of tertiary care centre of eastern Nepal regarding the legal aspects of lung transplantation.
