Journal of Spine and Neuroscience
Membership at the Journal of Spine and Neuroscience (JSN) connects you with a global network of neurosurgeons, neurologists, and spinal researchers dedicated to advancing the understanding and treatment of disorders affecting the central and peripheral nervous systems. We are committed to fostering scientific excellence through rigorous peer-reviewed research, clinical innovation, and a sustained focus on translating laboratory discoveries into life-changing patient outcomes across the full spectrum of spinal and neurological conditions.
The Clinical Framework
JSN membership is designed for the modern clinician-scientist who demands both scientific integrity and clinical relevance in their neurological research. By joining our scholarly network, you align your professional identity with a journal that prioritizes the advancement of spine and neuroscience through multidisciplinary collaboration and evidence-based practice. Our framework ensures that every member is equipped with the resources necessary to transition their research from the laboratory bench to the patient bedside, fostering a unified community of scientists and surgeons dedicated to neurological health.
We recognize that the frontiers of neuroscience are constantly expanding into new territories. Therefore, JSN provides a platform where traditional neurosurgery intersects with emerging fields such as neuromodulation, regenerative medicine, and computational neuroscience. Our members are encouraged to participate in this cross-pollination of ideas, leading to innovative treatments and better patient outcomes for individuals suffering from spinal cord injuries, degenerative diseases, and complex pain syndromes. Becoming a member of JSN is an investment in your career and in the collective future of neurological care.
Furthermore, our journal serves as a repository for high-impact findings that set the standard for clinical practice worldwide. Members play an active role in this curation process, ensuring that the evidence we publish is both robust and actionable. Whether you are conducting fundamental research on neural regeneration or clinical trials on spinal implants, the JSN community provides the critical infrastructure and scholarly support required for success at the highest international levels of academic and clinical excellence.
Surgical Excellence and Innovation
Contribute to the global advancement of spinal and neurosurgical techniques through our specialized platform for novel operative approaches, minimally invasive procedures, and clinical outcome studies that inform best practices in the operating room.
Translational Neuroscience
Bridge the gap between laboratory discoveries and clinical application. JSN members gain access to a network of researchers focused on moving promising therapies from bench to bedside, accelerating the development of new treatments for neurological disorders.
Pain and Neuromodulation
Join a community at the forefront of understanding chronic pain mechanisms and developing neuromodulation therapies. Our platform supports research on spinal cord stimulation, deep brain stimulation, and pharmacological interventions for complex pain conditions.

Emerging Clinician Initiative
JSN is committed to supporting medical residents, fellows, and early-career neurosurgeons during the critical foundational stages of their clinical and academic careers. The Emerging Clinician Initiative provides a 50% reduction on all fellowship tiers for individuals within three years of completing their residency or fellowship. This program ensures that the next generation of neurological leaders can access high-quality publication resources, clinical archives, and editorial mentorship without financial barriers.
Emerging Clinicians also receive priority matching with senior Neurologist members for collaborative research projects, career guidance, and assistance in navigating the complexities of academic medicine and grant application processes.
Institutional Neuro Network
Designed for university hospitals, neuroscience institutes, and specialized spinal clinics, the Institutional Neuro Network enables organizations to provide JSN fellowship benefits to their entire clinical and research faculty. This centralized approach simplifies administrative processes, provides shared publication credits, and aligns an organization's clinical mission with the academic prestige of the JSN global network.
Organizations participating in this program gain access to a dedicated institutional dashboard for tracking research output and impact metrics across their department, facilitating institutional reporting and supporting grant verification and tenure reviews.
Membership terms at the Journal of Spine and Neuroscience (JSN) are active for a period of twelve (12) consecutive months commencing from the date of final payment confirmation. All scholarly benefits, including article processing charge (APC) reductions, publication vouchers, and fellowship distinctions, are activated immediately upon synchronization with the ManuscriptZone portal. Publication vouchers are non-transferable and must be utilized within the current 12-month cycle; unused vouchers do not carry forward to subsequent renewal periods.
APC reductions are applicable to any manuscript where the corresponding author holds an active JSN fellowship at the time of submission. This reduction cannot be applied retroactively to papers already under review or published prior to the activation of the membership. In the event of an institutional partnership, benefits are extended to all authorized clinicians and researchers within the affiliated department. JSN reserves the right to audit fellowship usage to maintain professional and ethical standards in clinical dissemination.
The distinction of Neurologist carries with it a responsibility for clinical and academic leadership within the JSN community. Neurologists are encouraged to participate in peer-review panels, contribute to the strategic direction of our technical sub-committees, and mentor emerging clinicians. Membership fees are utilized to maintain the technical infrastructure of the journal and to support our various academic and clinical initiatives, including the Emerging Clinician Grant and global neuroscience outreach programs.
