Biography
Magellan is a Ph.D. holder in Biochemistry, obtained at the University of Yaound, in Cameroon. His is currently a research associate at the Biotechnology centre of the University of Yaoundé 1. After studying the role of certain polymorphisms of TCF7L2, PPARG, and KLF14 genes in the susceptibility of Type 2 Diabetes, Obesity and Ketosis Prone Diabetes in a Cameroonian population, he is now looked for how to use his results to set up tools in the personalization of medicine for these metabolic diseases. For the interesting master switch gene for type 2 diabetes and obesity, he proposes his coordinate role and hypothetic mechanism of the trans-regulatory network of the gene. He is author or co-author of more than 15 scientific publications.
