MTS Assay

MTS assay is a common method used to measure cell viability in vitro. This assay is based on the ability of living cells to reduce an insoluble yellow tetrazolium salt to an insoluble purple formazan dye, which can be measured spectrophotometrically. The MTS assay can be used to measure cell viability at different states of treatment, including exposure to toxic compounds, drugs, or infection by microorganisms. It is commonly used in research to assess the effects of different compounds or treatments on cell viability and to evaluate the toxicity of drugs. By providing an objective measure of cell viability, the MTS assay is an important technique for understanding the biological effects of different treatments on cells.
