Neurodevelopmental Disorders

Neurodevelopmental Disorders are neurological disabilities or impairments that are present at birth or develop during a person’s lifetime. These disorders affect the development of the brain and can lead to a wide range of impairments in physical, cognitive, and social functioning. Examples of Neurodevelopmental Disorders include Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Down syndrome, and Fragile X Syndrome. It is important to identify and diagnose Neurodevelopmental Disorders early, so that appropriate interventions and treatments can be provided to minimize or prevent negative effects.
