Nucleus and Nuclear Transport

The nucleus is the control center of a cell. It stores genetic information and is responsible for the activities of the cell. Nuclear transport is the process of transporting materials, such as proteins and other molecules, in and out of the nucleus. It is important for the regulation of gene expression and for cell development and differentiation. Nuclear transport plays a role in the movement of components from the nucleus to the cytoplasm and back. It is also important in cell division and the proper functioning of the immune system. This process has potential biomedical applications, such as improved delivery of therapeutic agents to target cells.
