Proteomics

Proteomics is the large-scale study of proteins, their structures, functions, and interactions in a cell, tissue, or organism. Proteomics is used to better understand the role proteins play in health and disease and to develop new therapies and diagnostics. Proteomics helps identify and characterize proteins of interest and can also help scientists understand how diseases progress, how certain treatments might work, and in drug development. By analyzing the proteins expressed in different biological samples, researchers can study the role proteins play in a wide range of biological processes, providing insight into the underlying molecular mechanisms of many diseases.
