Biography

Dr. Narbada Thapa is a Professor at the Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences, Sanobharyang, Kathmandu, having earned her PhD from Prince of Songkla University Faculty of Medicine. Her research focuses on maternal and reproductive health in Nepal, with particular emphasis on alcohol consumption patterns among women during pregnancy and the postpartum period. Dr. Thapa has conducted population-based household surveys examining alcohol consumption practices among married women of reproductive age in Nepal, including detailed studies in Sindhupalchowk District. Her work contributes to understanding the predictors and prevalence of alcohol use during critical periods of maternal health, informing public health interventions in Nepalese communities.
