Biography
Dr. Achyut Adhikari is an Associate Professor at Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal, having earned his PhD from the University of Karachi HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry. His research focuses on natural product chemistry, including the investigation of bioactive compounds from medicinal plants and their therapeutic applications, with particular emphasis on antioxidants and treatments for viral and cancer-related conditions. He has authored over 32 indexed publications, with his most-cited work examining the potential roles of medicinal plants for treating viral diseases, including COVID-19 (2020, 210 citations). Dr. Adhikari has received multiple honours, including first prize in the Poster Competition at the 11th International Symposium of Natural Product Chemistry (2008), and holds two patents related to bioactive compounds for nutraceutical and cancer treatment applications. He has served as President of the Chemistry Student Association of Nepal (2004–2005) and as a member of the Advisory Committee of the Nepal Chemical Society (2005–2007).
