Biography

Yujing Weng is a researcher at Henan Polytechnic University, Jiaozuo, Henan, China, specializing in biomass conversion, bioplastics, catalysis, green chemistry, and CO2 utilization. Since 2017, her research has focused on the selective hydrogenolysis and hydrogenation of biomass feedstocks into mono-alcohols and diols, as well as the catalytic mechanism of MoxC catalysts in hydrodeoxygenation reactions. Her earlier work (2013–2017) investigated the catalytic conversion of biomass sugar polyols into renewable alkanes and chemicals through aqueous phase processes, examining the performance of hydrothermally stable heterogeneous catalysts and the synergistic effects of Ru/C and phosphorus groups. With over 17 indexed publications, her most influential contribution is "Catalytic depolymerization of polyester plastics toward closed-loop recycling and upcycling" (2024), which has been cited 107 times, reflecting her significant impact on sustainable materials and green chemical processes.
