Nitrogen Substitution

Nitrogen substitution is the process of replacing the nitrogen atom in an organic molecule with another atom or group of atoms. It is an important tool in organic chemistry as it allows chemists to modify the properties of a molecule and create new compounds with specific properties. These modifications can be used to synthesize new pharmaceuticals, pesticides and fuels, as well as to enhance the effectiveness of existing drugs and to create materials with improved stability or other desirable properties. Nitrogen substitution is also used in biochemical research, as a way to study the effects of structural changes on a molecule’s function.
