Congestive Heart Failure

Congestive heart failure (CHF) is a condition in which the heart is unable to pump enough blood to meet the needs of the body. It is caused by a variety of factors, including coronary artery disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and some lifestyle choices. Symptoms may include fatigue, shortness of breath, and swelling in the legs and ankles. Long-term treatment may include lifestyle changes, medications, and other therapies, such as pacemakers or implantable defibrillators. CHF can lead to serious complications, such as heart attack and stroke, if not properly managed. Early diagnosis and treatment are key to controlling CHF and managing its symptoms.
