Gene Therapy
Gene therapy is a promising treatment for diseases caused by changes or mutations in an individual's genetic code. It involves introducing a corrective gene into a patient's cells or tissues to replace or supplement a missing or malfunctioning gene. This treatment can be used to help treat genetic diseases, such as cystic fibrosis and certain forms of cancer, as well as certain infectious diseases, such as HIV/AIDS. The potential of gene therapy to treat a wide range of conditions makes it a very promising field of medicine.
