Biography
Nevzat Uzuner, MD, is Professor of Neurology at Eskişehir Osmangazi University, Eskişehir, Turkey, having completed his medical education at Hacettepe University. His research focuses on cerebrovascular diseases, with particular emphasis on acute ischemic stroke, thrombolytic treatment, cerebral venous thrombosis, and vascular dementia. He has made significant contributions to stroke management through his work on national registries and clinical guidelines, including his most-cited publication examining the relationship between pulsatility index and clinical outcomes following thrombolytic treatment in acute ischemic stroke (2013). Professor Uzuner has been instrumental in developing comprehensive clinical practice guidelines for the Turkish Society of Cerebrovascular Diseases, covering stroke unit management, early acute stroke care, hemorrhagic stroke treatment, and post-stroke rehabilitation.
