Current Calls for Papers
JCPN regularly develops special issues on topics of current importance to nursing science, clinical practice, and healthcare education. These thematic collections bring together related research to create authoritative resources advancing understanding of focused areas. Contributing to an ongoing special issue connects your work with complementary research and amplifies visibility through coordinated promotion of the complete collection.
Each special issue has defined submission deadlines and article limits. We encourage early submission to ensure consideration, as calls close when sufficient quality submissions are received. Review the available calls below and contact guest editors with questions about thematic fit or content expectations before submitting your manuscript.

New Special Issues Coming Soon

How to Contribute
When submitting to a special issue, indicate the specific collection title in your cover letter and explain how your research addresses the call's thematic focus. Follow standard JCPN author guidelines for manuscript preparation and submit through our regular channels. Guest editors may contact you with questions about fit or to suggest refinements that strengthen thematic alignment with other collection articles.
Special issue submissions undergo the same rigorous peer review as regular JCPN articles. Acceptance is based on scientific merit, originality, and methodological quality, with additional consideration of contribution to the collection's coherence and comprehensiveness. Guest editors coordinate the collection but do not override peer review recommendations.
Articles accepted for special issues are published as they complete production, appearing online with the special issue designation. When all articles in a collection are published, the complete special issue receives additional promotion through social media, email announcements to subscribers, and journal website featuring, maximizing collective visibility.
If no current calls match your research focus, consider proposing your own special issue or submitting your manuscript as a regular JCPN article. Regular submissions receive the same rigorous peer review and publication benefits. Subscribe to our announcements to receive notifications when new special issue opportunities become available.
