Propose a Special Issue
Lead a focused collection of informatics research on a timely digital health topic.
Shape Digital Health Research Priorities
Special Issues allow leading informaticists to curate a collection of high-impact articles around a specific healthcare technology theme or emerging challenge.
JMID invites proposals from experienced researchers, academic groups, and institutions to guest-edit Special Issues. These focused collections offer an opportunity to consolidate evidence on emerging informatics topics.
Academic Leadership
Establish yourself as a thought leader by curating a definitive collection of research in your informatics specialty.
Network Expansion

Special Issues receive dedicated promotion via JMID's indexing networks and newsletters.
A strong proposal should include:
- Proposed Title: A descriptive and concise title for the Special Issue
- Scope Statement: A 300-500 word description of the theme and key research questions
- Guest Editor CVs: Brief bios of all proposed Guest Editors (1-3 recommended)
- Timeline: Proposed dates for call for papers, submission deadline, and publication
- Potential Contributors: A list of 5-10 potential authors who might be invited
