01 · Invitation
Submit your research to JSDR
Journal of Sleep And Sleep Disorder Research welcomes submissions throughout the year from researchers, clinicians and multidisciplinary teams working across sleep science and sleep medicine.
Regular submissions are accepted throughout the year.
There is no queue to join and no window to wait for: a manuscript is screened when it arrives and goes to review as soon as it is ready for one.
02 · What suits
Work that suits this journal
The journal covers sleep as a biological process and sleep disorders as clinical problems, together with the measurement and the services that connect the two.
- Sleep regulation, homeostatic and circadian control, chronobiology and entrainment
- Sleep-disordered breathing, from mechanism to therapy and cardiometabolic consequence
- Insomnia and behavioral sleep medicine, including cognitive and behavioral treatment
- Narcolepsy, idiopathic hypersomnia and the assessment of daytime sleepiness
- Parasomnias, restless legs syndrome and periodic limb movements
- Infant, child, adolescent, pregnancy and later-life sleep
- Sleep in psychiatric, neurological, respiratory, cardiometabolic, oncological and pain conditions
- Polysomnography, actigraphy, quantitative EEG and consumer or ambulatory sensing
- Questionnaires, scoring conventions and measurement validation
- Occupational, shift-work and population sleep health, and health-services research
One test decides fit
A manuscript belongs here when sleep, a sleep disorder or a circadian question is among the things it actually investigates — as an outcome, an exposure, a mechanism, a method or a service.
Established methods and applied questions are fully in scope, and work on sleep and circadian biology is in scope on its own terms, whatever its distance from clinical application.

03 · Article types
What to submit it as
- Original research
- A full report of new work: laboratory, experimental, observational, clinical, methodological or computational.
- Review
- Narrative reviews, systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
- Methods and tools
- Recording, scoring, analysis and instrumentation work presented so others can apply or reproduce it.
- Short communication
- A concise report of a self-contained finding, a focused dataset or a methodological observation.

04 · Collections
Focused collections
Alongside regular submissions, the journal welcomes proposals for focused collections on questions that merit several papers together.
Researchers with relevant expertise are invited to review the proposal requirements and contact the editorial office. The route, the guest-editor arrangements and the independent-review safeguards are described on the special issues page.
