Applications are reviewed by the editorial office and senior editors. Selection is based on expertise, publication record, alignment with the journal scope, and balanced coverage. Qualified candidates will receive confirmation and onboarding guidance.
Editors are expected to manage a limited number of manuscripts per year, provide timely decisions, and uphold ethical standards. The editorial office provides workflow support and clear policies for consistent decisions.
Editors should be willing to recommend reviewers, evaluate reviewer feedback, and communicate decisions clearly to authors.
Workload depends on manuscript volume and editor availability. Most editors handle a manageable number of submissions each year and may adjust assignments based on expertise or scheduling constraints. Flexibility is respected.
Editors must disclose potential conflicts and recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where conflicts exist. This protects fairness and maintains trust in the editorial process.
Editorial service supports the Alzheimer's research community by improving the quality of evidence available to clinicians and caregivers. It also provides leadership experience, professional recognition, and opportunities to guide the future direction of dementia science.
New editors receive guidance on journal policies, review workflows, and decision templates. The editorial office remains available for questions and administrative support throughout the term.
