Editorial Board
The JTC editorial board brings together researchers and clinicians working across thyroid oncology. The editors below work across the disciplines the journal covers — pathology and cytology, imaging, surgery, nuclear medicine, endocrinology, molecular diagnostics and cancer epidemiology — and manuscripts are assigned to the editor who works in the area the manuscript addresses.

How editorial decisions are made
Editorial independence
Editorial decisions are based on scope, scientific quality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, reporting quality, and relevance to the journal. Reviewers advise; the decision is the editor's, and it is taken independently of any fee, membership, service or role.
Assignment by subject
Handling editors are assigned by subject rather than by rota, so a manuscript is read by an editor who works in the area it addresses.
Competing interests and recusal
An editor who has an interest in a manuscript - institutional, financial or personal - takes no part in its assessment. Funding sources, grant numbers and competing interests are declared by every author.
Manuscripts authored by editors
Editors who publish in the journal are handled by another editor, and their authorship is disclosed on the published article. An editor never handles, reviews or decides their own manuscript.
Confidentiality
Submitted manuscripts are confidential. Reviewers must not retain or use unpublished material, and after submitting a review they should securely delete downloaded manuscript files.
Peer review
All submissions undergo initial editorial screening. Manuscripts that meet the journal's scope and minimum requirements proceed to independent peer review. Single-blind by default; double-blind review is available on request.
