Biography
Dr. Lea Ann Matura is affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States, where her research focuses on symptom management in people with cardiopulmonary disease, particularly pulmonary arterial hypertension. She is interested in understanding the symptom experience and how symptoms affect outcomes such as functionality and health-related quality of life. Dr. Matura is currently working to understand the biological mechanisms of symptoms including genomic susceptibility with a particular interest in fatigue and sleep. Her most-cited publication, "Symptom phenotypes in pulmonary arterial hypertension: The PAH 'symptome'" (2022), reflects her contributions to characterizing symptom patterns in this patient population.
